B.R. 2806 — Royal Navy diving manual, Article 3334
The name
3334/SW
Article 3334 of B.R. 2806 — the Royal Navy diving manual — provided for two types of wrist watch. The divers wore Rolex or Omega. The supervisor, standing over every man in the water, wore the Lemania.
The manual is blunt about it: the supervisor's watch “is used only for supervision. It is splash-proof and not pressure resistant.” A timekeeper's instrument — plain, legible, absolutely dependable.
The 3334/SW is that watch, continued — named after the article that created it. Standards move on: ours is rated to 100 metres.
